The official Google Photos app is made for the way you take photos today and includes essential features like shared albums, automatic creations and an advanced editing suite. Additionally every Google Account comes with 15 GB of storage and you can choose to automatically back up all your photos and videos in High quality or Original quality. You can then access them from any connected device and on photos.google.com.
With the official app, you get:
15 GB OF STORAGE: Back up 15 GB of photos and videos and access them from any device and photos.google.com—your photos are safe, secure, and private to you. All photos and videos you back up in high quality before June 1, 2021 will not count toward your Google Account storage.

I recently went to a Google Pixel from a Samsung and man, the Gallery on the Samsung beats Google photos in organization hands down! My pictures are a hot mess of frustration! The editing features are great, except I miss being able to make gifs, otherwise it's good. I wish I could add photos to albums and have them stay in alphabetical order as I'm adding them and not have them be in random freaking order every time. It's literally the only reason I rate this so low.

I have used Google photos for years. I love it. But something I've noticed is that it backs up pictures from albums that I have chosen NOT to have backed up. Screenshots is the album in question. There could be others uploading and I just haven't noticed or double checked that yet. I just checked what albums are chosen in the google photo settings. None are chosen. Therefore, only my camera album should be the only one that uploads. Can you please check into this?

I only really use this to keep track of my portfolio but it's been backing up ALL of my photos which I don't want. I've turned the backup feature off but still it continues to download them. It's gotten to the point where it took up all my space so I can't even send emails. I've tried countless ways to delete the photos on here but if I do, it deletes them on my camera roll too. At this point, I've just deactivated it's access to my photos and deleted the app. Im not paying more for free space:(
